Feed the need History

Feed the Need began in the fall of 2013 when a group of concerned Ocean Springs citizens decided to band together and do a little something extra for their local soup kitchen. The fundraising group decided to host a booth at the Peter Anderson Festival to sell donated art, a fabulous T-shirt designed by local renowned artist Chris Stebly, and to raise awareness about the outstanding work done by The Lord Is My Help soup kitchen in our own backyard each and every day. The booth was so successful that the group decided to carry on the momentum started and to host a full fundraiser in the summer of 2014 titled "Feed the Need." The fundraiser was hosted by The Government Street Grocery (and continues to be to date) and included a fish fry and silent auction plus a full day of music, fun, and most importantly giving back. Each year, our event grows, and we grow with it.  Feed the Need is a loved community event and The Lord Is My Help is dependent upon the success of the event.    We are proudly on our 8th Annual event, and look forward to many more!  All proceeds of Feed the Need fundraisers and events directly benefit The Lord Is My Help community kitchen.

Let’s put an end to hunger in Ocean Springs!
